Rachel Vorbeck, a partner in the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice, and Cathleen Booth, a partner in the Corporate Practice, were mentioned in an article in the Chicago Lawyer on the “Letters to Santa” program. The program, organized by Direct Effect Charities, collects letters from children in Chicago’s neediest schools. Katten attorneys and staff help answer the letters and grant holiday wishes for kids in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. “These kids might otherwise be asking for anything in the world for Christmas, but they are asking for gloves and coats to keep them warm,” Ms. Vorbeck says. “These are kids that don’t have anything to help themselves out of the situation they are in. If they don’t have gloves, hats and coats they just are cold.” Ms. Vorbeck and Ms. Booth coordinate the annual program in Katten’s Chicago office.
